Bethany & Dan (Wedding)

When I started becoming a florist I was very excited to be working with flowers, but as I have worked more and more I'm finding I'm enjoying working with people. I love seeing people as potential friends. When a bride is planning her wedding she wants to be surrounded by people, by friends who are excited for her. I hope I can help add to that excitement to every bride I work with. 

When I first met Bethany I also met her mother Pattie. What first noticed about them was their visible close relationship. They were bouncing ideas off of each other and were so in tuned with each other's likes and thoughts. It was very fun planning with them. 

The colors Bethany wanted were burgundy, pale pink, white, and gold. I fell in love with this color combination. These colors just flowed together so naturally. 

For Bethany, she wanted a floral crown and a cascading bouquet. Oh I just loved how both of these arrangements turned out. The flowers used in the floral crown were myrtle, pink spray roses, hypericum berries, and wax flower. I used gold sparkled floral tape in the crown. The flowers used in the bouquet were pink roses, burgundy and white carnations, baby's breath, wax flower, seeded eucalyptus, and aspen leaves. I added some gold sparkled ribbon in the bouquet.

Here is the grooms boutonniere. The flowers used were pink spray roses and baby's breath wrapped in the gold floral tape. I love how the pink and gold went together beautifully.

These are centerpieces that were on the table. A three piece centerpiece, a picture, a mason jar, and a shot glass with carnations and baby's breath. Each table had a different color of carnations, either burgundy, pink, or white. So simple and so pretty.

Bethany wanted flowers on the arch way back drop for her wedding ceremony. The look of the flowers is similar to Bethany's bouquet. The flowers are the same as well.

Bethany also wanted jars of baby's breath guiding the way into the reception and down the aisle. I love how these bouquets of baby's breath ended up. Beautiful!

Here is Bethany and Dan's wedding cake. An elegant cluster of flowers on the front of the cake, in the second tier. The flowers used are the same as the arch back drop and bridal bouquet flowers.

I feel a sense of real accomplishment when I look at a finished arrangement and realize, "I created that." I love developing the talent in by hands of enhancing the beauty a flower has. Putting flowers together into a bouquet, a vase, a cake and seeing how the flowers interact and compliment each other is incredible to me. I love what I do!

Kerri and Colby (Wedding)

 This past August I had the great opportunity to do the flowers for Kerri and Colby's wedding.

Just as everyone has their own beauty, everyone has their own vision, their own ideal. I feel like it's my job, with my clients, to help create their visionary, their ideal wedding.  My soul sings when I'm told that I did just that. 

Kerri wanted dark purple as her color with white as a complementary. I love the natural harmony that is created with a dark color and white. Needless to say, I love the colors Kerri picked. 

The flowers used in Kerri's bouquet were white roses, dark purple calla lilies, white and purple pixie carnations, with lemon leaf surrounding the bottom. I love the look of flowers in a tight cluster. It gives the whole bouquet a very elegant feel. Which was how the whole wedding felt. 

Everyone should look and feel beautiful on the wedding day, and Kerri certainly did!

Here are some close ups of the groom's boutonniere, and how the bouquet was wrapped. A single white rose with leather leaf and jewels (to add some bedazzle) wrapped in purple floral tape. Kerri's bouquet was wrapped with a wide white ribbon with crossed dark purple ribbon.

The groomsmen boutonnieres were the same style as the grooms, but without the jewels.

Here are the bridesmaids wrist corsages. The flower used was dark purple pixie carnations with some of the same jewels added, to make them stand out from the other wrist corsages.

Even without the jewels, the corsages were still beautiful! The bracelet for the wrist corsage was made of small white pearl beads. Which goes with the dark purple and white very well.

If the bride is on a budget and wants to know where she can cut back some money, I always suggest doing wrist corsages for the bridesmaids, the mothers, and any of the other women in the wedding party. That way they still have a flowers, but the arrangement isn't so big (so less money); then they are able to use their hands throughout the evening.

A beautiful part of Kerri and Colby's wedding day was their ring ceremony, which was separate from their wedding ceremony which took place at a beautiful LDS Temple.

Kerri wanted their to be aisle flowers on the chairs at the ring ceremony. So the flowers used were a single white rose complemented by baby's breath and a leather leaf. Each arrangement was wrapped in either a silver ribbon or dark purple ribbon. The ribbons alternated each row. Then each arrangement was attached to the chair with a dark purple sheer sash. 

At the end of the aisle, by the arch, were two pedestals with an arrangement on each. I got super excited when Kerri told me she wanted arrangements like this! I was super eager to see how they would look when they were completed. I am very pleased with how they turned out!

The flowers used in these arrangements were white roses, dark purple calla lilies, purple and white pixie carnations, with some leather leaf and moss at the bottom. I loved how these arrangements added elegance to the room and made the whole event unique. It is possible to bottle beauty and capture all the beauty, love, and excitement of the day into one arrangement!

For the reception, there were to be similar yet different centerpieces. Each centerpiece had a small vase of baby's breath and a ball shaped vase with Peruvian lilies.

This is where the centerpieces changed. On half of the tables were an arrangement of roses (purple and white) with baby's breath. 

On the other half, the third vase had submerged purple pixie carnations, with a light at the bottom and a candle on top.  

Here are the centerpieces while all put together. I loved the variety of the arrangements and how well the colors went together.

I also did the flowers for the cake! The flowers used were dark purple carnations and pixie carnations. Kerri wanted a cluster of flowers on top with flowers cascading down the cake. I loved how the cake turned out! I really love the details put on the cake, I believe that is what made the cake gorgeous!
